Tour de Jazz features three routes covering dozens of sites important to the legacy of Kansas City Jazz, as well as the region’s African-American community. All routes begin and end in the 18th & Vine Jazz District.
Please Note: Tour de Jazz is an open route. You will be riding on city streets in mixed traffic. Wear a helmet and obey all traffic laws.
10 Mile – Leaves at 5:00 p.m.
This family friendly route explores the area around 18th & Vine, including the Downtown Loop, Crossroads Arts District, and Beacon Hill. Visit 12th Street, the epicenter of KC nightlife during Prohibition, including the famous “12th Street and Vine” from Going to Kansas City.
The Guided Tour is sold out, but you can still ride the 10 mile route on your own, using the souvenir map in your rider packet.
30 Mile Route – Leaves at 4:00 p.m.
Venture further afield to places like Westport, the East Side, and Independence. The 30 mile route includes Lincoln Cemetery, the final resting place of Charlier Parker.
50 Mile Route – Leaves at 3:00 p.m.
Explore even further to South Kansas City, Raytown, and Kansas City, KS. The 50 mile route includes the Charlie Parker gravesite in Lincoln Cemetery plus the old Quandary ruins in Kansas City, KS.
